I am an experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I am deeply compassionate, dedicated, and empathetic, I have attributed my life’s work to understanding how to assist others in accomplishing their dreams and goals. I earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Stony Brook University in May 2007, where I participated in the Psi Chi Honor Society and the Golden Key International Honor Society. In May 2011, I earned her Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling at Long Island University's C.W. Post campus, where I was also the President of the local chapter of Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society. I completed my internship throughout South Oaks Hospital, working in various departments including, in-patient, outpatient, and partial hospitalization programs with children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults. I have striven to gain experience and knowledge in the mental health field since 2003. I earned clinical supervision hours through Realization Center an outpatient substance abuse program as an intake coordinator, at Family and Children's Association as a Supervising Counselor, and at New Leaf Wellness Center as a private therapist. I am experienced in working with clients of all ages and mental health concerns in a variety of settings including work in the non-profit and private sectors. I have worked with individuals, families, and groups in an inpatient psychiatric hospital, partial hospitalization program, residential group homes, and outpatient services, I am a well-versed and well-rounded counselor who strives to bring forth the best care and individual understanding in a professional and courteous environment. Throughout my experience I have gained training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, senior adult care, crisis intervention, mental health therapy, substance abuse, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and co-morbid or dual disorders. I am an extremely qualified and empathetic therapist, making me an excellent support for addressing any obstacles standing in the way of allowing you to achieve a better you.

I work with adolescents, adults and couples to help manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and interpersonal issues. His journey began with a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in business, giving him a unique perspective on the intersection of personal and professional development. As an intern, DT is committed to assisting clients in transforming their pain into purpose through a challenging yet supportive approach.
DT's therapeutic style is eclectic, drawing from a variety of effective modalities, including Reality Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Experiential Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Gestalt Therapy.
